Start by dialing your own country's international access code. From the US or Canada this is 011; from most of Europe it's 00. This tells your network you're making an international call.
Immediately follow with Lithuania's country code — no spaces or dashes. This routes your call to Lithuania's telephone network. On smartphones, replace the exit code with a + sign.
Add the city or regional code for your destination in Lithuania. If the local number starts with a 0 (trunk prefix), drop it — the country code replaces it when dialing internationally.
Enter all remaining digits of the local number exactly as written. For mobile numbers, include every digit — no abbreviations. Press call and your carrier does the rest.

Lithuania changed its national dialling prefix in 2024. Domestic calls now use 0 — Vilnius is 0 5, a mobile is 0 6xx. The old 8 prefix was retired on 1 March 2025 and no longer connects.
International dialling is unaffected: +370 followed by the number, with no prefix at all. If you stored Lithuanian numbers in +370 format, they still work — which is why the authorities recommended storing numbers internationally in the first place.
